Costco is now offering the prescription weight-loss medications Wegovy and Ozempic at over 500 of its U.S. pharmacy locations, giving members a new way to access these treatments. Manufactured by Novo Nordisk, both medications are injectable pens designed to help regulate appetite and support sustainable weight management.
For Costco members, a four-week supply of either medication will cost $499 out of pocket—significantly lower than standard list prices. Executive members and those using a Costco Citibank Visa card can receive additional cash back through the retailer’s prescription program. Patients with insurance will see costs determined by their individual plans.
Novo Nordisk has previously offered similar pricing through its website, CVS, and Walmart. The company says the expansion to Costco is part of its efforts to make these medications easier to obtain for patients who might not have insurance coverage or prefer direct access.
Around seven million Americans currently use GLP-1 medications, with projections estimating up to 24 million US users by 2035. With the high demand for these medications, this broader availability could make it easier for healthcare practices to support patients seeking affordable weight management options. By providing access through a major retailer like Costco, patients may find it simpler to maintain consistency in their treatment.
